What "prepared teeth" means

Permanent veneers are bonded to teeth that have been filed down first. That step is irreversible: enamel does not grow back. The short clip below shows what that preparation involves.

Other options to ask a dentist about

Professional whitening for discoloration on otherwise healthy teeth.
Composite bonding for small chips or gaps.
Clear aligners or braces for crowding and spacing.
Bridges, implants or dentures for missing teeth.
Generic one-size pop on veneers — cheaper, but since they aren't made from your impressions, the fit and look may be less convincing.
